Happy Halloween

This is the entrance to the old grave yard in Galisteo. I stumbled upon it while on the Art Studio tour. While standing there snow flurries started to fall.

Out In Rain

Just sitting out in the field, this poor abandoned VW sat waiting for the rain.

Rainy Days and Mondays

While out at the Galisteo Studio Tour we could see the rain coming in the distance. There was something beautiful about it on this day. It was also very very cold.

Slow Entry

When entering the small town of Galisteo for their Art Studio Tour we were greeted by this sign. Couldn't blame them really, it was a nice quite little town with dirt roads. Wouldn't want dust everywhere.

Cow Appeal

There was something about the wood in this shot that made the skull irresistable. As I pointed out in a previous post. Skulls are a huge part of the decor in and outside of alot of households here in New Mexico.

Chama River

On the way to El Rito you cross over the Chama River. The color of the trees is what caught my eye as I was driving through.

While out on the Studio Tour in El Rito we were driving on a small road on the way to a studio. Once we passed this old adobe building we saw this guy just hanging out and probably wondering why we were driving down his road.

Art Tree

This sculpture was out side of a pottery gallery in El Rito. It blended into the backround in color so I shot it in Black and White to get some good contrast.

Art Tour Weekend

This weekend there were two "Art Studio" tours in two towns close to Santa Fe. This week I will be posting pictures that I took in both towns. The first studio tour was in El Rito. This mural was painted on the side of a building next to the Catholic church. I thought flowers would be good for the start of the work week.

No Sunday Delivery

While out and about the other day I came across these two mailboxes. Looks like they've had a hard week of deliveries.

Hungry?

If your hungry and shopping around downtown Santa Fe you can always head to the Plaza Restaurant for a really good breakfast or lunch. But as you can see, you could be waiting for awhile.

Getting Some Energy

I stumbled upon this vehicle on the way home the other day. Not quite like the other vehicle with all the stickers from a previous post but there are some good ones on this one (Click on the photo for a better look).

First Snow

Yesterday the Santa Fe Ski Basin got a some snow during the night (Click on the photo for a better view). Not sure how long it will last because the temperatures are supposed to be warmer tomorrow.

Antiques

Check out this old gas pump. I haven't seen one in years until I moved to Santa Fe. This gas station is around the corner from my house. Not only is the pump old but look at the Vintage Thunderbird in the backround. That is one beautiful car. Happy Wednesday everyone!

Mighty Acorn

While walking near the library the other day I came upon this sculpture. So we have several living things, fruit, acorn, and a sheep. Then there is the metal guy using a can and bolt to hold it all together.

Look Up

While walking back down the trail the other day I happened to look up and spotted the red leaves on this tree. Of all the trees on the mountain it was one of the only ones with red leaves that I could see. Lucky that I looked up when I did.

Up and Away

This weekend the Santa Fe Ski Basin was operating their lift so that everyone could ride up the mountain to get a different view of the fall colors. When we reached the top we were over 11,000 ft high. Boy was it cold up there too.

Thank God for the Weekend.

I feel like the kid looking up to the sky. Its Saturday! This is a great sculpture locate on Canyon Road. Canyon Road is full of many great art galleries. Unfortunately I could not find the real name of this piece.

Hot Dog anyone?

This mural is on a wall in the parking lot for Chicago Dog Express. Its a great hot dog stand close to my house. I guess Aliens like hot dogs too.

Sticker Shock

Got something to say? Say it with a sticker. I do have to say that I could easily cover my vehicle with alot of these stickers.

Not Poe's

This Raven is not real but a sculpture on at a Canyon Road gallery. There are plenty flying around the sky though. In fact I have a male and female who frequent the trees in my neighborhood regularly.

Seeing Red

I know for some people who have seen the colors of Fall it may get old. For me, who has never seen this before it is really exciting. Remember I come from the desert of Arizona. Anyway I stumbled upon this Red leaf as I was out hiking this weekend. Hope everyone has a great week.

Fall's Arrival

Went up to our normal hiking spot just north of our home to see how much the leaves have changed so far. From our home you can see the change but up close as you can see its quite beautiful.

St Francis

This is a view of St Francis cathedral from the Santa Fe Plaza. This is a very beautiful church on the inside as well. From what I was told, building codes now prevent any building from being built taller than this church. I kind of like that idea if its true. No more skyscrapers.

Adobe

This is one of the homes not far from where I live. I was drawn to this place because of the curves in this home. There is such a feast for the eyes in our town for anyone who is into architecture.

Native Mural

There are quite a few murals in town. This is the first that will be posted on the Santa Fe site. There is one in town thats too big for one photo so it will be some work to get it on here. Good day everyone!

Bumble Bee

This Mini Cooper was out and about advertising for Bumble Bee's Baja Grill. Its a good place for a quick lunch out with friends.

Hot Stuff

One of the staples in every New Mexico kitchen, Chili. In alot of restuarants here in Santa Fe you have your choice of Red, Green or Christmas (a combo of Red and Green). In fact that is our state question "Red or Green?"

Theme Day: Cemetery/Tombstone

Its theme day here on Daily Photo and here is my contribution for the month. This church is South of Santa Fe on an old highway. I chose this one because I love the church in the backround. You have to walk thru the cemetery to get to this old church.
