This young man was out trying to get people to do the responsible thing, getting tested for HIV at the Pride event. He was kind enough to pose for this shot for me. I was actually surprised that I even asked I am normally shy when it comes to people shots.
il est sympa d'avoir repondu a ta demande, mais aussi cela lui permet de faire passer son message.
ReplyDeleteI'm shy about that too! Just the other day I wanted to take a picture of a very Swiss looking older man with a lovely, lined face. But I was too embarrassed to ask... afraid I'd offend him!
ReplyDeleteNice shot, Randy!
Nice shot, Randy!
ReplyDeleteThat is amathing:)
ReplyDeleteIt happens, and the result is very funny and a good photo either.
ReplyDeleteNice one Randy :)
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha! Funny signage.
ReplyDeletelol, it was an on the spur of the moment thing... :-)
ReplyDeleteahahahah!!!!!everybody can use it everytime,is not a moral question,it's civil one.....
ReplyDeletethat's a pretty cute sign. ;)
ReplyDeleteGood for him and good shot for you. Yes, sometimes it's hard to ask, but when I have, I've never been turned down.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant idea for this picture! :)
ReplyDeleteLéia
Quite a poster! But, a great cause.
ReplyDeleteI also feel shy about asking people for their photo. And I don't much like to take people's pictures without their consent either.
ReplyDeleteI like this shot though. A colorful and funny way to get the message across.
Great photo! Necessary idea.
ReplyDeleteNice shot! Colorful.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot with color and humor... I do love when someone actually wants me to take their photo as it is so much easier than "stealth" photography.
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
Great shot! He's even giving you a bit of a pose and huge smile.
ReplyDeleteI am with you on asking people for a photo. It is something I need to work on. The worst thing that could happen would be they say "no". Unlike what Allison said, I do not think anyone would be offended, instead flattered if anything. Also it helps to be using a big DSLR instead of a little point and click. You look more like a serious photographer with the big camera.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for being brave enough to take people shots. I'm still working on my courage. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, this is a great shot! Just look at that smile! Shy or not, you did GOOD! And posting this just gave you mega points in my book.
ReplyDeleteCheers from Montreal.
I'm pretty shy about asking as well, but I guess the worst that can happen is that the person says no.
ReplyDeleteThe parade here in New York was filled with even more celebration than usual after the marriage vote passed.
Great shot!
It's hard to ask for pictures I agree! Love the enthusiasm in this one!
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't look shy at all! Good one.
ReplyDeleteI am shy about asking people if I can take their picture. Not sure why, no one has ever said no. I usually just try to sneak a shot. I see people sneaking shots of my "cowboy" husband all the time.
ReplyDeleteVery nice character ad sign!
ReplyDeleteWell done Randy! ;-)
Siempre estupendas las fotos que nos dejas...
ReplyDeleteSaludos y un abrazo.
You were right to ask, Randy. It's a lovely, spontaneous capture. Liking your little mini-series, keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeleteGood that you ask, it's a cool shot. I think in this kind of atmosphere, someone want to be noticed, it's much more easy to ask.
ReplyDeleteI'm normally shy too. But try to push me while thinking of the possibility of a good photo.
Me too! My husband however is less shy & always happy to get people shots! Yours is a good one!
ReplyDeleteGreat and colorful shot. Your subject appears to like having his picture taken. Definitely worth the risk. I too feel funny about asking strangers for their photo, but I guess it's time I should also take the risk. I am enjoying your Pride photos. Pride in St. Petersburg was last weekend and it would have been a good opportunity for photos.
ReplyDeleteGood, very good photos. I really did. Also difficult to photograph people. Hi overseas. Peter.
ReplyDeleteGood shot. You captured his cheerful mood! I also see color pink:)
ReplyDeleteHe provided you with a great photo!
ReplyDeleteWell, you did a great shot and you're helping get the message out too.
ReplyDeleteWonderful image Randy. I'm kinda shy photographing people too.
ReplyDeleteDon't be shy; most people are willing and often eager to pose. Plus I often find myself in a fascinating conversation with the persons. Your subject today looked more than eager to pose.
ReplyDeleteI am becoming more comfortable about asking, although I do take my share of unauthorized shots. I don't think I could have asked this guy . . .
ReplyDeleteGreatShot :)
