Plaza Blanca VIII

"I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn't
say any other way - things I had no words for. ”

Plaza Blanca VII

This part of the hike went rather quick. Water rushes through here when it rains that there were storm clouds coming in from the west. Next time I will spend more time climbing.

A tree grows on the rock. Next time I'll need to climb to the top.
I think the view would be worth it.

Plaza Blanca

Yesterday I spent the afternoon at Plaza Blanca or as Georgia O'Keeffe used to call it "The White Place" which is also the name of her painting below.

I was a beautiful day hiking where she hiked. I will be posting images from my hike this week.

Native Arts Weekend

Another of my favorite sculptures on Canyon Road. This weekend is the Native Treasures Indian Arts Festival which is a small version of Indian Market. There is also a Pow Wow at one of our nearby pueblos. While it all sounds exciting the weather may not cooperate for some activities, with that said I may opt for hike somewhere north of the city.

Shops, Shops and Food

Walking this along this corridor you will find many shops. At the height of tourist season it's hard to walk through here. La Casa Sena is one of my favorite places to eat. They have a wonderful patio, perfect for people watching.

Spring Color VI

"When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment. I want to give that world to someone else. Most people in the city rush around so, they have no time to look at a flower. I want them to see it whether they want to or not."
Georgia O'Keeffe

Happy Mother's Day!

Spring Color V

These beauties were found off Canyon Road. Speaking of, that is where you will find me today.
It's that time of year for Passport to the Arts, there will be Plein Aire painting, music from our elementary schools and a live auction of painting done by the artist. Should be fun.

Common Sight

When you walk around downtown this is a pretty common sight, tourist who have lost their way or just can't seem to make sense out of the city map. I always take a moment to ask if they need directions. It's funny the guys usually say no they can find their way, most times the Mrs. will say yes please.

Theme Day: Revolution

This month's theme is Revolution. I chose this colorful spinning sculpture that sits
right off of Canyon Road. This one is made of glass and metal and is quite mezmerizing
when the wind moves it..
