I don't like that sign, it's a call for violence. It seem to me that these guys have absolutely no idea what an uprising is and how it may end. Not well, usually.
I know it was a peaceful rally, and I know the symbology of the fist... but the fist in in that sign looks so angry (red), and while people have every right to be angry... wouldn't it be great if we could work out our all of our differences in a non-violent manner? Just dreaming... I like the chile lovers for cheese heads better. :)
I like the shot, the yellow is on evidence! And it seems you're tall enough to get a good capture! ;-) But the fist signs can have a double meaning, they can be strenght, but they can be a call for violence too...
I think people need to let the government know they're not happy and I believe in the power of demonstration. Just hoping there's no violence. Very thought (comment) provoking posts, Randy.
I've been doing my homework and now know a bit more about what's happening in Wisconsin (but it seems other states are trying the same thing, like Ohio for instance but I digress). This is great AND it's true also for quite a few Mediterranean countries at the moment...
I think VP and becky are right to caution about violence. Yes, I also admire the strong color, but I worry about the messae. The strength of this country is that we nearly always work disagreements out peacefully.
Watch for the uprising.... the people the fear of all administrations, when money flows to wallstreet and not to main street, blood flows on the street. not my line... ;)
le poing leve de la revolution ressort bien dans cette foule
ReplyDeleteGreat shots, Randy. I love that you covered this event. Can you direct me to a link that explains more about what was going on?
ReplyDeleteThat yellow sign really got all attention!

Solidarity! The yellow sign certainly stands out. Makes me wonder when the raised fist was first used as a protest symbol?!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting signs.

ReplyDeleteAccording to marketing wisdom, yellow + red is the color combination to attract attention... interesting photo.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see how far these protests spread. I think no nation can feel this cannot happen in its country.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot:)
