This was the same day but on the way home. While the there wasn't much snow the wind was cold and the roads turned to ice by quitting time. It amazes me how fast people will drive on such slippery roads. Have a great weekend everyone!
When I worked for a while in northern Italy I was amazed by the incredible ability of the locals to drive safely right into fog banks... I was terrified!
It's photos like this that make me feel happy and safe to be in southern California. I spent half a lifetime driving and living in winter weather and that is enough.
I'm not afraid to drive in the snow ice when it comes to my own driving, but other people's driving can scare me! This area is a retirement community so driving just on normal days can be risky, add in snow, ice and hotheads...not a good mix.

ReplyDeleteI was terrified!
Fast driving, and being a good driver are two different things :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it home safely :)
Weekend is here Randy!
They're driving fast because they're trying to get to the park! :D What is the price of freedom, after all?
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend is brighter and warmer. Here we are supposed to have sunny skies and much warmer temps! But be careful on that ice!
ReplyDeleteYou are definately into for it again!! Cold cold cold.... Keep warm, have a good weekend:)
ReplyDeleteWe have snow today... I can go out because it's too cold....XP
ReplyDeleteOh, that is SUBARU's awd!
Have a great weekend, too!
Those are scary road conditions.
ReplyDeleteI was in US last week, it was 2ºC in Orlando, already very cold to me! Can't image snow weather...
ReplyDeleteI am amazed by the same thing. WHY do people need to go so fast on slick roads?! I don't understand it.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday Randy!
:)
Looks (and sounds) just like Dallas when it ices. Yahoos and old fart drivers don't mix well!
ReplyDeleteThe icy road is more dangerous!
ReplyDeleteYou are right that you stress!
Have a nice weekend
Greetings
I hate ice on the roads! I stay home if at all possible. Glad you made it home safely to post the picture.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
If I had to drive in conditions like that I want a bigger car like a 1975 Cadillac.
ReplyDeleteI definitely don't miss driving in the slick stuff!

ReplyDeleteThey should be a skillful-driver by driving their car in the icy road like that...
ReplyDeleteGlad you're still alive! :)
I am always nervous on roads like that.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend, Randy!
Well driving on ice (fast, slow or medium) is one skill I never developed here in California. People texting while driving is nerve- wracking enough!
ReplyDeleteI guess I wouldn't dare driving there even in slow motion... LOL! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't even like to walk on icy roads much less drive fast on them! Be careful of all of those crazy drivers out there!
ReplyDeleteBises,
G
Lol @ VP! I don't know what I'm more scared of, ice or fog!
ReplyDeleteStay safe (i.e. trying to avoid the mad drivers) and have a great weekend!
and you were on this road too ??
ReplyDeletedangerous !!!
I wish you a wonderful weekend randy
bisous
How's the road gritting out there? Often here the councils get it wrong and the roads stay icy.
ReplyDeleteIcy roads are the worst - I'd rather drive in 10" of snow that on a bit of ice! Glad you made it home okay.
ReplyDeleteDriving on icy roads is called "skating." Not fun.

Looks much like it does here in KY. Cold!
ReplyDeleteWeather can be very capricious. Watch your step; don't fall!!
ReplyDeleteNever driven on such conditions, should be much more slippery then just rain !
ReplyDeleteIt looks treacherous out there. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteIt might warm up here next week and I can hardly wait.
Have a great weekend!
Ahhh- such fun. Looks like our roads here.
ReplyDeleteIf nothing else...our driving skills are getting well honed;)
ahh cold winter cold winter...I think it's very dangerous to drive in those conditions, I mean with snow!
ReplyDeleteTake care okay!
